Corning

Corning is a city located in Steuben County, New York. It is named the most fun city in the United States. There are many exciting things to do in Corning, from historic sites to cultural attractions.

Here is a list of attractions and activities to do in Corning; it will help you plan a perfect trip to this city:

  • The Corning Glass Museum: the largest glass museum in the world, it is entirely dedicated to glass, presenting the complete history of glass on earth through 3 main themes: art, history and technology.
  • The Rockwell Museum: an art museum with world-renowned collections of Amerindian, Western and contemporary art. The Family Exploration Studio allows children aged 5 to 12 to carry out artistic projects.
  • Heritage village of the Southern Finger Lakes: The complex includes historic buildings that illustrate life in the 19th century.  The Patterson Inn of 1796 is a tavern, a place of entertainment, dining, accommodation and commerce. The guided tour includes: living at home in a log cabin in the 1850s, learning in class in a one-room school in the 1870s, the tools of the trade in a forge in the 1870s, a barn in the 1800s and an agricultural exhibition after one year in a farmer’s newspaper.
  • Corning’s Gaffer district: Market Street and Burmese Lane are one of a series of galleries, shops, hotels and restaurants in downtown Rt. 352. Buy glass and artwork at the West End Gallery or kitchen utensils at Corelle Revere Factory Store. Enter Brown’s cigar store, follow the chocolate trail or the food excursion trail or the children’s adventure trail. You can also participate to the GlassFest in May!
